Who can join?

Any man aged 21 or over who believes in a Supreme Being and subscribes to our key principles of Neighbourly Concern, Charity and Moral Standards can become a mason. A candidate aged between 18-21 or one who is not a son of a mason can be accepted but requires a dispensation. It doesn’t matter how old you are, what religion you profess or your social background. Freemasonry aspires to be extremely diverse, very tolerant and devoid of discrimination.

The Old Greshamian Lodge is a very special lodge in that it is a school lodge open only to old boys of Gresham’s School in Holt, Norfolk (hence the name). There is a proposal to relax the criteria to also allow family members of Old Greshamians (OGs) who themselves are not OGs to join. This is under consideration at present and once a decision has been made it will be made public on the site.
